Isaiah 46:4, “…I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”
Isaiah 53:4, “Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows…”

I’m currently working on a script for a new animation that I plan to make the first or second quarter of 2018. While searching through scripture that highlights YHWH’s faithfulness to His people, I was reminded of Isaiah 46:4 where the Lord contrasts His care of Israel to that of The idols that they were prone to worship.
The idols were cold and dead and had to be carried by their worshippers….but the Lord is the Living Creator and He carries His people; the idols become a burden, the Lord carries His people’s burden. Idols, like anchors, drag their worshippers into the abyss with them, the Lord enters the abyss and carries His people up to Himself.
This combination of “bear” and “carry” language then sent me over to Isaiah 53:4 where we read that YHWH incarnate will bear our griefs and carries our sorrows. One weighty and beautiful implication of the Lord’s covenant commitment to carry His sinful people is that He will ultimately carry their suffering, sorrow and sin in Himself to the cross.
Then, through death and into the resurrection, He will carry His own into the presence of the eternal God who is their unending joy and true home—and underneath are the everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27).
