1 Corinthians 15:55-57, “‘O Death, where is your victory? O Death, where is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In Jesus’ death and resurrection, our sin was slain, the Law was fulfilled, and our enemy, Death, was dealt a killing blow.
The people of God should mourn over death, fight against death, and condemn death as an enemy….but we need not fear death, he is a defeated foe.
Christian, Death’s scythe is broken, His doom is blood-sealed, and–only when Jesus’ wisdom ordains–he will act as our servant, ushering us into the presence of our Living Joy.
